WORDS / INDUS CREATIVES

The most useful brief is a shared decision tool. It gives strategy, design, writing, and engineering the same picture of the audience, the problem, and the change the work should create.

Begin with the situation rather than the deliverables. Describe what is changing in the organisation or market, where the current experience breaks down, and what people need to understand or do differently.

Define a small number of principles that can guide trade-offs. Clear before clever, calm under pressure, or expressive in moments of celebration are more useful than a list of visual references because they apply across media.

Then name the real operating conditions: who creates content, how often it changes, which devices matter, what accessibility requires, and where the system needs to scale. Constraints help the creative work become usable.

A coherent system does not make every expression identical. It establishes enough shared logic that different teams can create new work without losing the central idea.
